A coastal New South Wales mental health service is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide locum support across their adult mental health teams in a Visiting Medical Officer capacity.

Service Info

The Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) service is a specialist inpatient service providing comprehensive psychiatric care for adults aged 65+ with moderate to severe mental health conditions. The unit is a dedicated approximately 15-bed facility within the Wyong Mental Health Centre, operating 24/7 as part of Central Coast Local Health District. The service offers multidisciplinary care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care planning for conditions such as mood disorders, psychosis, and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Patients are managed collaboratively by a team of psychiatrists, nurses, and allied health professionals, with a strong focus on involving families and carers in treatment and supporting recovery within a structured inpatient environment.
