Eligibility To Apply For Permanent NCHD Roles In Ireland

Requirement Details
01. Not have worked in Ireland within the last 36 months
This includes locum shifts, fixed-term contracts, or any direct employment with an Irish hospital.
02. Not have applied directly to work in the Irish public health service within the past 24 months
This includes applying through any job platform or contacting a hospital’s HR team directly.
03. You must hold the correct Irish Medical Council (IMC) registration
  • SHO roles require General Registration.
  • Registrar roles require General or Specialist Division registration, depending on the specialty.
04. Have (or be eligible for) a valid work permit
We will guide you through the full visa and permit process if you need support.
