Locum Consultant Psychiatrist - General Adult (Inpatient)

A regional Tasmanian health service is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide ongoing support within their General Adult inpatient mental health unit.

Service Info

This is a full‑time consultant role based within a General Adult inpatient mental health unit.

The inpatient unit provides care for adults with acute mental health presentations and consists of 22 beds. The consultant is typically responsible for 10-12 inpatients and is supported by a full‑time registrar and a full‑time JMO.

If required, you may also provide support to the broader adult mental health service, working alongside staff specialist psychiatrists, registrars, and a multidisciplinary team. This may include assessing newly referred patients or reviewing consumers who are care‑coordinated by clinical staff.
