Global Medics is partnering with a public health organisation that operates in a coastal region of New South Wales to recruit a permanent Consultant in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

Role Overview:

The Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry service provides mental health care for patients with comorbid physical and psychological conditions, including those in medical/surgical wards, rehabilitation, and the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide expert psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for patients with comorbid mental illness, including delirium and dementia.
    • Offer clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams (MDT) and provide advice to hospital staff.
    • Participate in on-call rosters and contribute to quality improvement/safety.

Employment Type: Permanent Full-time (part-time hours may be negotiable).

Essential Selection Criteria:
* Coming from the UK -  Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), awarded under any RCPsych curriculum from August 2007 to date following satisfactory completion of a General Medical Council or Postgraduate Medical Education and Training Board approved specialty training program in psychiatry in the United Kingdom.
* Other Countries - Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent. Substantially comparable outcome of RANZAC assessment.
* Demonstrated clinical skills and experience working with mental health problems in Adult/Older Adult Mental Health
* Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary team
