It’s no secret that working on the frontline can trigger many mental health and wellbeing concerns. When your work is focused on caring for others, particularly in these challenging times, it’s all the more important that you feel able to speak openly about your own mental health, and be able to access help and support when you need it.
This is why we are launching our online support portal for doctors across the UK. We spoke to Candidate Engagement Manager Laura Dugdale to find out more.
What does the implementation of this online support portal mean?
We’ve always had a focus on wellbeing and supporting our doctors to deliver outstanding care, but the launch of our support system means they can control when and where they receive help and completely anonymously. Everything is at the click of a button putting the control in their hands to access the contents when, and where is convenient.
What is the main purpose?
We want this to help with personal development, growth and most importantly to help directly with mental wellbeing. Not only are the resources available to our doctors, but also to their families, and we want them to take advantage of this.
Who can access the portal?
It is exclusive to Global Medics doctors. The service has been created for their requirements and needs to support them to deliver outstanding care.
Tell us a little about what will be included?
We have lots of resources needed to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing, all at the click of a button. Our partnership with Health Assured offers access to counselling sessions, relationship management support, hints and tips around financial wellbeing, mini health checks, webinars and much, much more. We also provide access to webinars presented by The Joyful Doctor in which employees/candidates can gain a personalised CPD certificate and used for revalidation and appraisal purposes where relevant. We are also including news and updates regarding mental health and wellbeing within the industry.
How will service evolve over time?
We will continually listen through regular surveys to find out what would be of most benefit to our health and social care professionals. Having that direct access to their feedback means we can evolve the service based on that feedback.
Is the portal secure?
All the information provided within our online portal is safe, secure and completely confidential. The only time we will use any information will be to send a CPD certificate upon completion of a webinar. We do not track anything, making this service safe, confidential and really easy to use.
How is the portal accessed?
We are launching the online portal soon, so if you work with Global Medics, keep an eye on your emails as we’ll be sending the relevant login details out directly to you.
