Position: Resident Medical Officer PGY2/PGY3 +
Location: Metro, QLD
Contract: Fixed Term Contract, immediate start to 23rd January 2022
Salary: QLD Award Rate
The hospital in South East Queensland is currently experiencing unprecedented growth and requires a Resident Medical Officer to join their major health centre in one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland.
Rotations are to be confirmed, RMO may be expected to rotate through various areas including but not limited to:
" Emergency Medicine
" General Medicine
" Sub specialties, Psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Radiology, General Surgery, ENT and Orthopaedics
A 485-bed hospital that provides acute medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, cardiology, orthopaedics, renal and other speciality services for adults and children. The hospital is 'digital hospital' with a fully integrated electronic medical record, supporting improvements to the quality and efficiency of health care services for patients. The hospital also operates the second busiest emergency department in the state.
The hospital is easily accessible by public transport or via the motorway and is situated just 25 minutes from Brisbane City and 35 minutes from the Gold Coast. Limited free offsite staff car parking is available near to the hospital.
South East Queensland is one of the warmest regions in Australia, it's sub-tropical climate can be enjoyed all year round making it an ideal place to live and work and there's something to suit all interests from dining, arts and culture, to bushwalking, camping and horseback riding.
Medical Education Unit
" Provide personal and professional support for Junior Doctors from the Director of Clinical Training, Medical Education Officers and Administration Officers
" Coordinates education programme in accordance with the Australia curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors and the Australian Medical Council Intern training national standards programme
Education and Training
" Weekly Junior Doctor medical education programme
" Practical clinical skills workshops
" Weekly Medical Grand Rounds and departmental medical meetings
" Unit based resident teaching programmes
" Multidisciplinary Simulation Centre
" Metro South Learning Management System (LEAPOnline)
" General AHPRA Registration
" Preferably Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
" Applicants who are not Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents may be considered if obtain General AHPRA Registration
