The Position:
In this role, you will be assisting the Clinical Director, Consultants and SMOs to provide high quality and efficient Psychiatric care to the population of this region. You will be working with both inpatients and outpatients. This department has rotations available in consultant liaison, older peoples health, child and youth, and general adult.
The Hospital:
This hospital is the main referral centre for the Central Queensland Region. It has 305 beds and has recently undergone redevelopment to include an integrated cancer care service. As one of the sites of the University of Queensland Rural Clinical Schools, this hospital is actively involved in the teaching of medical students. Their focusing on growing their own medical workforce has resulted in an active Medical Education Unit which places a large focus on Registrar training. This hospital provides a wide range of services, including, EM, General Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Mental Health, Rehab, Geriatrics, Paediatrics, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, ICU, Anaesthesia, O&G and Orthopaedics, among many more.
The Region:
This region had a diverse geography, with spectacular coastlines and remote highlands. The population of this city is approximately 80,000 but if forecast to grow rapidly in the future. This city is becoming a tourist hub as it offers easy access to the nearby coast and national parks.
