Salary: 70% of billings or $150 per hour
We are currently looking for a permanent GP to join a brand-new family practice in the Hunter New England area. The position can be either full-time or part-time. The practice's opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The practice would like to attract a GP that is interested in family health. An interest in women's health would also be advantageous. There is a lack of skin cancer services in the area and this would be an excellent opportunity for a new doctor. The salary will be p of billings or $150 per hour, whichever is higher. The role offers flexible hours and leave arrangements. No onerous contracts.
This family practice is a new medical centre opening in early 2021. All the facilities will be new and first class. There are a large number of families moving into the local area as well as established population in the catchment area. There is a higher than average prevalence of chronic disease in the community. The practice will have seven consulting rooms, a two-bed treatment room, pathology collection room, administration office and large tea room. The practice will be fully air conditioned and all facilities will be modern and at a very high standard. The treatment room will be stocked with an immunisation fridge, oxygen, CPR, wound dressing trolley and equipment, ear syringe equipment, ECG, spirometry, iron infusion equipment, doppler and other standard equipment you would find in a well-appointed treatment room. The practice will have full nurse coverage and the nurses will be trained to complete GPMP's/TCAs/Health Assessments/Cycle of Care etc.
With a population of over 7,000, this small town in the Hunter region is located only 30 minutes from Newcastle and 20 minutes from "Wine Country'. With the closest city being only half an hour away, boasting stunning beaches, gorgeous coastline, NSW's largest Lake, beautiful architecture, wide and varied dining options and a working port, there is plenty to like. o Eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
o Have Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or an equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification
