Position: Medicine Registrar - BPT or Unaccredited
Contract: 2021 Training Year
Salary: $90k-$126k+package
Location: Tasmania

We are currently recruiting for a major teaching hospital in Tasmania for basic physician trainees/unaccredited Medicine Registrars for the 2021 training year. This role is open to Basic Physician Trainees, and Unaccredited Medicine Registrars including those on Provisional and Limited Registration. The Medicine Department at this hospital is accredited for 36 months BPT training. This position will consist of rotations in the APU, various medical teams, nights, secondments to smaller regional hospitals and possibly other medicine sub-specialties including cardiology, gastroenterology, respiratory, stroke and nephrology. The Medicine team is well supported with 13 Staff Specialists, 8 Advanced Trainees and a number of BPTs and interns.

The Hospital:
This hospital is the largest in the region and is a major teaching hospital. It provides a comprehensive range of general and speciality medical and surgical services. It provides a 24/7 EM services and has a 14 bed ICU Department. The hospital provides services for all of southern Tasmania and has the capacity to facilitate 400 patients. Many state-wide services such as cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, major trauma, high-risk obstetrics, hyperbaric medicine and neonatal intensive care are based at the hospital, with referrals coming in from the north and northwest.
