Position: Geriatrics Registrar - BPT or Unaccredited
Contract: ASAP to February 2021
We are currently recruiting for a major teaching hospital in Tasmania for basic physician trainees/unaccredited Geriatric Registrars. This role is to start ASAP and will continue until February 2021. The Medicine Department at this hospital is accredited for 36 months BPT training. This position will consist of rotations in the Older Persons Unit, Orthogeriatrics liaison service, Consults service and Rehab multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for BPTs and GP Registrars with an interest in geriatrics.
This hospital is the largest in the region and is a major teaching hospital. It provides a comprehensive range of general and speciality medical and surgical services. It provides a 24/7 EM services and has a 14 bed ICU Department. The hospital provides services for all of southern Tasmania and has the capacity to facilitate 400 patients. Many state-wide services such as cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, major trauma, high-risk obstetrics, hyperbaric medicine and neonatal intensive care are based at the hospital, with referrals coming in from the north and northwest.
