Position: Palliative Care Trainee
Location: Northern NSW
Contract: 2020 Training Year
Salary: NSW Award + Package

We are assisting one of the referral hospitals in Northern NSW to find a Palliative Care Trainee. This role is open to both Advanced and Basic Physician Trainees. The Palliative Care department at this hospital is accredited for Advanced Training and for the Clinical Diploma. The Medicine Department is accredited for Level 1 BPT. As a trainee in this department you will be expected to provide high quality care to both inpatients and outpatients. You will be well supported by both RMOs and Consultants.

The position is based at a regional referral, level 5 base hospital that sees more than 30,000 admissions each year and performs around 11,000 surgical procedures. The hospital is currently being redeveloped to increase health services locally, and enable new, state of the art models of care to meet the growing needs of the community. It is expected that the redevelopments will be completed by early 2021.

This city is a regional centre in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, and home to a population of nearly 29,000 people. Here you'll find a vibrant arts and music scene, from riverbank sculpture walks to laneway street galleries, vintage stores and markets, it has been transformed from a dairying community to a cultural haven on the far North Coast of NSW. The town is home to its own Southern Cross University campus, along with a number of public and private schools. The city is only a short drive to the stunning Byron Bay and to the QLD boarder (including the Gold Coast).

Registration or eligible through the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, US, Canada, NZ).
