As GP VMO you will provide primary health care to the local community. From diagnosis to treatment you will play an integral role within the local community, undertaking routine admissions and management and participating in afterhours roster as required. You will be a strong problem solver and extremely versatile in your approach. You will perform the clinical duties expected of a rural obstetrician in addition to supporting acute and emergency clinical care.
You will be supported by other GPs and have nursing support. There is a also a telehealth service to cover breaks.
This hospital has 28 inpatient beds which includes acute and sub-acute, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care services.
It also includes two birthing rooms, three maternity beds, two operating theatres, chemotherapy, medical imaging and collocated community and primary health services which includes outreach to surrounding towns.
The picturesque Parkes is perfectly situated three hours from Canberra and five hours of Sydney. The town boasts a strong sense of community and a safe place to raise a family with a good mix of private and public schools and a wide range of services. There is always something going on in Parkes including its infamous annual Elvis festival. Steeped in history, this gold mining region is a stones throw away from the town of Forbes.
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
" AHPRA registration
" Must hold FACRRM with solid GP Obstetrics skills and experience
" DRANZCOG with recent CPD experience
