Position: Trainee Emergency Department
Location: Mid-North Coast, NSW
Salary: As per NSW Award
Contract: Start February 2020
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee to join the Emergency Department team at one of the hospitals on the coast of NSW for 2020 training year (starting February 2020). In this role you will be providing quality clinical care within the Emergency/Critical Care setting including provision of a retrieval service. Performing necessary procedures for Critical Care patients within the scope of abilities and training, or under the supervision of the Director of the Emergency Department and Staff Specialists in the Emergency Department.
This is an acute regional hospital with a 280- bed capacity. The campus offers a wide range of services in general medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics, rehabilitation and intensive care. Other specialist services available include the acute stroke unit, coronary angiography unit, renal unit, mental health unit and oncology and radiotherapy services within the local health districts Cancer Institute. The Emergency Department is a major referral centre for the district hospitals in the region, seeing approximately 40,000 patients per year.
This hospital is located on the beautiful coast of NSW, half way between Sydney and Brisbane. It is known for it's stunning national and marine parks, along with award winning cafes and restaurants. With its sub-tropical climate, this coastal city is a perfect base for adventurers looking to explore the ocean and bush in their time off. There are regular flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, along with trains and buses to down the coast to Sydney.
To be eligible for this role, you should;
1. Hold AHPRA General registration and have local Australian clinical experience; or
2. Have medical experience gained in either UK, New Zealand, Ireland, US or Canada; and
