As GP VMO you will provide primary health care and emergency department support to the local community. From diagnosis to treatment you will play an integral role within the local community and use your well-rounded skill set to treat a wide case ranging from ongoing to urgent with duties including ward rounds, GP Clinic and ED duties. You will be a strong problem solver and extremely versatile in your approach.
You will be supported by other GPs and have nursing support. There is a also a telehealth service to cover breaks.
Shifts- 8am-6pm, and off site 6pm to 8am. Rotations and working days can be worked out and negotiated
This hospital has 28 inpatient beds which includes acute and sub-acute, medical, surgical, rehabilitation and palliative care services.
It also includes two birthing rooms, three maternity beds, two operating theatres, chemotherapy, medical imaging and collocated community and primary health services which includes outreach to surrounding towns.
The picturesque Parkes is perfectly situated three hours from Canberra and five hours of Sydney. The town boasts a strong sense of community and a safe place to raise a family with a good mix of private and public schools and a wide range of services. There is always something going on in Parkes including its infamous annual Elvis festival. Steeped in history, this gold mining region is a stones throw away from the town of Forbes.
To be eligible for this role, you must have:
- AHPRA registration
- Must hold FACRRM with recent emergency department experience
- Overseas candidates holding FRNZCGP, CCFP, FDRHMNZ and MRCG with CCT, JCPTGP, PMETB will also be considered.
