Position: Advanced Trainee General Medicine
Location: Western NSW
Type: 2020 training year
Remuneration: Consistent with NSW State Award

The Position:
We are currently looking for a General Medicine Advanced Trainee to join one of the hospitals in western NSW for the 2020 training year. This role is accredited for 12 months advanced training. It can offer six months Group A rotations, six months core-training, and 6 months non-core training. This position is well supported by both senior and junior support, and the hospital is part of a BPT network ensuring consistent junior support.

The Hospital:
The hospital serves a population of over 40,000 people, and the Emergency Department sees approximately 25,000 patients per year with an admission rate of 35%. This hospital also has a modern campus, with 4 operating theatres (including endoscopy), a day surgery, and new digital anaesthetic machines and patient monitors. The maternity unit has approximately 500 births a year, and surgical services include general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, O&G, urology and ophthalmology. There is also the support of a 7 bedded ICU/HDU.

The Location:
Just 3 hours from Sydney, this city is known for being Australia's oldest settlement and is also considered the fastest growing inland city of NSW. Home to the famous Bathurst racetrack, it has several motor races each year which gain the interest of tourists from all over the world. The region also known for its agriculture (largely grapes, stone fruit and beef) and education sectors. This location is only a 3-hour drive from Sydney and there are also direct train services daily.
