The Position:
In this role you will be assisting the established medicine team to provide excellent clinical care to the local population. The medicine department at this regional hospital is expanding, with a new purpose-built sub-acute unit recently completed. This hospital is an accredited medical school hub, giving you the opportunity to be involved in teaching of medical students.

The Hospital

This hospital is a fully integrated rural public health service, providing care to around 35,000 people within a 100km radius. The hospital itself has 143 beds including aged care facilities, around 630 staff members and provides several clinical services including Aboriginal Services, Midwifery, Chemotherapy, Day Procedures, an Emergency Department, Palliative Care, Allied Health Services, Community Rehabilitation and Counselling. Their vision is to provide appropriate services in the right setting by dedicated healthcare professionals for their community and they provide person centred care that respects and responds to the preferences, needs and values of the person.

Location

This hospital is located on the south bank of the Murray River in rural Victoria, 344km north west of Melbourne (around a 3.5-hour drive) within a tight knit, friendly local community. With affordable housing, safe spaces for children, swimming pools and quality education options. The main street boasts little traffic congestion and high-quality local restaurants. The community promotes a healthy lifestyle with plenty of water sports activities available including yachting or water skiing at the surrounding lakes, a friendly country club and a golf course.
