Position: General Surgery Registrar
Location: WA
Contract: ASAP - February 2021
Salary: WA Award + package

The Position
In this role you will be working within a team of excellent surgeons to provide care to the patients of local population. This role is an ideal position for candidates looking to applying for General Surgery SET in the coming years. The Surgery Team currently has three General Surgeons. You will be expected to provide assistance in the operating theatre, clinics, on-call rosters, ward rounds and admitting patients from the EM.

The Hospital

This hospital campus offers enhanced services in modern facilities with superior care for patients, recently undergoing the largest public country hospital development ever undertaken in Western Australia providing a better working environment for staff and care closer to home for around 60,000 people in the Great Southern Region. They provide a new surgical centre, inpatient wards, sub-acute care unit, improved renal dialysis, mental health unit with additional beds, cancer centre, allied health services, upgraded maternity unit, paediatrics, medical imaging, high dependency unit and a recently expanded 24/7 ED unit. Patients enjoy state of the art equipment, fully air conditioned and heated surrounds, entertainment systems rivalling any modern city hospital.

The Location

This hospital is located on the rugged southern coastline of Western Australia, approximately 5-hour drive from Perth, featuring WA's best beaches, the national Anzac Centre and whale watching cruises with a rich history and legacies remaining in museums, galleries and restaurants. As a major regional city, it includes a diverse community from different ethnic backgrounds, demographic profiles and therefore there are many community-based organisations, sports clubs and a public library.
