Position: Addiction Medicine Senior Resident Medical Officer
Salary: NSW Award + package
Contract: Full-time until February 2020
We are supporting a teaching hospital in western Sydney to find an Addiction Medicine SRMO to join their team.
The purpose of this role is to provide high quality, effective medical services to patients whilst under the supervision of the on-duty Consultant and Clinical Director. The key responsibilities of this role are: coordinating and documenting admission, management and discharge of patients, assessment of patients, communication with patients and their families, and participation in the after-hours and weekend rosters. You would be working in a multi-disciplinary team to provide this care. This position is at a Level 3 accredited teaching hospital for Basic Physician Training. The department is also accredited for advanced training in Addiction medicine, with a total of two trainees at any one time. As an Addiction Medicine SRMO you would be working within the Drug and Alcohol Service which has 15 dedicated inpatient beds.
Located in western Sydney, this hospital services both urban and rural populations. This position is based at the major tertiary hospital in the district. The hospital has over 500 beds. It has a wide range of inpatient services including: emergency, critical care, acute medicine, surgery (elective and emergency), O&G, NICU, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Aged Care, Rehab and Drug and Alcohol. This hospital is home of one of the University of Sydney Clinical Schools.
This hospital is located in western Sydney, approximately 1.5 hours from the CBD. This suburb is the hub of western Sydney and provides services to a wide area, including the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains are easily accessible from this location making it a perfect place to live if you're a lover of the outdoors but still wants to enjoy a city lifestyle.
