Position: Consultant General Surgeon

Location: Tasmania

Salary Package: Tasmania Award; approximately $350,000 - $400,000 package

The Department of Surgery at one of the hospitals in Tasmania, are looking for a General Surgeon to join their team. They currently have three General Surgeons and have received funding to grow this team to four General Surgeons. This role would primarily be based in the main hospital in the region; however, you would also be required to work at a smaller community hospital. This team is known for being supportive and has well established junior support. These hospitals are also home to the Rural Clinical Schools for the University of Tasmania, giving you the opportunity to be involved in teaching of all levels. The region has 250 beds across both hospitals and provides secondary level care to the region. As the hospital is co-located with a private, there may be an opportunity to grow your private practice. The Tasmanian Health Services is known for being innovative and dynamic, making it an ideal location for those surgeons looking for a new adventure or challenge.

Located on the beautiful coast of Tasmania, this position is ideal for a young family seeking an escape from the city, whilst enjoying a lifestyle that is rated second to none. This area of Tasmania is known for its supportive community, good schools and exceptional food, making it an ideal place to bring up a family. With its own port and airport, the mainland is easily accessible, with Melbourne being a 1-hour flight away.

This hospital is looking for someone to join their team as soon as possible. They are open to candidates who already have their FRACS, have been found substantially comparable by RACS or who have trained in the UK/Ireland and have started the RACS assessment process.

To find out more about this exciting opportunity, please call Alex Troughton on 02 8248 2989.
