We are currently recruiting Medicine PHOs (Registrars) for the 2020 training year for one of the hospitals on the coast of QLD.
As a PHO at this hospital, you will be responsible for supporting the senior staff in the team to provide high quality care to the local population. This position is well supported by Consultants, accredited Registrars, and juniors. As it is home to one of the Rural Clinical Schools for the University of Queensland, there may be an opportunity to involved in the teaching of medical students. As an unaccredited position, this role is ideal for candidates who want more experience before entering the training programme, or who are on the Competent Authority Pathway and are looking for their first position in Australia.
This 200-bed hospital is the main referral centre for the region. It has recently undergone a major redevelopment of approximately $50 million which has provided the hospital with new beds, improved rehabilitation services, a new Emergency Department, Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery. This hospital provides a wide range of services, including: ICU, Coronary Care, O&G, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, EM, and many others. They also have comprehensive Mental Health and Allied Health services. It is also home to one of the Rural Clinical Schools and is well supported by the two private hospitals in the city. The wider health service prides itself on providing innovative healthcare to its patients and supporting its staff to grow and progress their careers.

What you need to be considered:
General Registration with AHPRA or
Provisional Registration with AHPRA (level 3 supervision) or
Eligible for registration with AHPRA from the Competent Authority Pathway.
