Position: ACEM Trainees, Emergency Medicine Registrar (PGY3+)
Location: 50mins from Melbourne CBD, Victoria
Contract: 12-months, Feb 2019 start

The Emergency Department
Comprising of 3 sites, they see a total of 190,000 Emergency presentations, of which more than 64,000 are for paediatric patients. The Medical Centre's dedicated paediatric ED sees over 30,000 children per year. Paediatric Emergency registrars are rostered to work day, evening and night shifts on a rotational basis.
The paediatric ED is currently accredited for 12 months joint training in paediatric emergency by both ACEM and RACP. The Medical Centre is well supported by specialist paediatric services.
A mature and well-established teaching program is provided during protected teaching time. The departments have strong interests in research, and they welcome and support research projects during rotations.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person-centred emergency care, working towards attaining Fellowship of the ACEM.
As the registrar you are accountable to your Unit Head/consultant. Registrars working in Emergency have a rotating roster including evenings and weekends and night shifts.

A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which is recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Preferably trainee of ACEM, or trainee of RACP for joint paediatric emergency training.
Successful candidates will hold AHPRA General or provisional registration or be eligible via
competent authority pathway (UK & USA, Ireland Trained)
