This is an acute care teaching hospital with over 300 beds and provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Multiple positions for Resident Medical Officers & Registrars with experience in Emergency Medicine. Join this major, acute teaching hospital to provide emergency care to a range of patients. You will work alongside large numbers of medical staff at various levels, from interns, trainee medical officers and career medical officers to those registered as trainees with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and fellows of both the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
The department is accredited for 24 months advance training with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. They can also arrange rotations in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), anaesthetics, trauma, medicine, psychiatry, paediatrics and paediatric ICU.
The Emergency Department is open 24-hours a day, providing health care to more than 70,000 people each year. You will be fully supported by an established team of Emergency Specialist, Registrars & other Junior Doctors. Approximately 25% of the presentations to the ED are paediatrics
All junior doctors participate in a comprehensive clinical training program that includes skills teaching, clinical tutorials and a career development program providing exposure to a wide and diverse range of patients and conditions. Components of training are scheduled on a weekly basis during protected training time.
The Emergency Department is accredited for 24 months of mixed urban district advanced training for ACEM fellowship. The ACEM Training program offers rotations to the Intensive Care Unit, Anaesthetics and Paediatrics Emergency during your training. The department also offers a special skills post in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound. ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate Training is also available for non-Emergency Medicine Trainees.

To be considered you will be Holding a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, you will need to be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
