This Healthcare Group is a sub-regional public hospital providing 77 Hospital and 110 Aged Care beds. Providing acute medical and surgical, paediatric, obstetrics & gynaecology, emergency, aged care and community services, approximately 100 kms east of Melbourne. Healthcare Group comprises a number of sites with Community Services Centres.
The Emergency Department is run by a dedicated, proactive Nursing team and offers an enjoyable working environment - the hospital prides upon having a professional and consultative team-based approach to patient care. The hospital site is located approximately 1.5 hours east of Melbourne and is an easy drive down the Freeway.
The Healthcare Group is a customer focused health organisation providing acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, residential care and community health services to 45,000 people in the rural, urban residential, agricultural and industrial areas.
This position requires an emergency doctor to provide on-site and after hours care of patients in the Emergency Department within this healthcare group.
-Undertake medical practice within approved credentialed scope of clinical practice as an Emergency Medicine specialist.
-Provide evidence-based and quality clinical care of individual patients in all domains of medical practice:
- Patient interview.
- Clinical examination.
- Identification of clinical problems and health opportunities.
- Plan of overall clinical care and health promotion.
- Maintenance of concise but comprehensive, accurate, legible records of patient status and progress and associated correspondence.
Ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and maintain flow in the emergency department.
-Attend, participate and support administrative meetings as required by the Director of Emergency Medicine or Director of Medical Services.
-Ensure patient safety and quality clinical care through participation in clinical audits, clinical meetings, peer review and other safety and quality assurance programs.
-Contribute to the education and training of other clinical staff as required by the Director of Emergency Medicine.
-Ensure supervision of junior medical staff as required by the Director of Emergency Medicine.
-Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
-Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
-Experience working in Australian emergency departments in managing adult and paediatric patients.
-New FACEMs are encouraged to apply, this is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience
