Director of Intensive Care
Our client is a regional health service based in the coastal area of Queensland, a location highly reputable for the promotion of a relaxed, healthy, and family-friendly lifestyle. The hospital is based only a couple of hours drive away from Brisbane CBD, and close enough to be accessible to the famous Great Barrier Reef.
The hospital is a 200-bed facility that services its greater community across the coastal towns. Services included, but are not limited to: emergency department, general surgery, ICU/ CCU, cardiac, pathology, urology, mental health and other allied health services.
The Intensive Care Department encompasses of ICU, HDU and CCU and has the capacity to ventilate and provide multi-system support to critical patients.
The Director of Intensive Care is to oversee and provide leadership within the ICU, namely to ensure high quality in clinical services, administrative management, clinical expertise in the strategic planning of the Intensive Care Department within the hospital, as well as the provision of other non-clinical services that may directly or indirectly benefit patients of the given community.
Applications will have:
- Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellowship or membership of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) within Australia as recognised by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration
- Candidates should have at least 5 years' experience post Fellowship of the CICM as a Staff Specialist; and ideally have previous Managerial and /or Directors role experience
- Dual fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) is highly desirable
