Position: Staff Specialist - General Surgeon
Location: Regional WA
Salary: $350,000 - $445,000 depending on experience
We are currently arranging interviews for a General Surgeon to join a team at a regional hospital in Western Australia. As a Consultant General Surgeon in this hospital, you will be providing high quality surgical care to the patients of the local town and its surrounds. Alongside clinical work, you would also be involved in administrative leadership (with other team members) and quality assurance. There will also be an option to be involved in policy development and teaching/supervision of junior medical staff.
This hospital has 131 beds and a variety of services carried out there, including, Surgery, Endoscopy, Paediatrics, 24 hour EM, Mental Health, Maternity and Dialysis. It is also the largest regional hospital in WA.
This hospital is located in a mining town approximately 600km (6 hours) from Perth. It has a population of approximately 40,000 and is a hub for a number of services, including miners and the Royal Flying Doctors Service. It is considered part of the 'Golden Mile' due to the number of Gold Mines in the area. Though it is largely known for being a mining town, Kalgoorlie is also known for its supportive community making it ideal for individuals and families alike.
