Community Paediatrician (0.9 FTE)
Location: North Island, New Zealand.
Employment Type: Permanent 0.9 FTE (flexible working arrangements)
Salary: 161,000 - 240,000
We are working with a hospital on the South Island that has an enthusiastic team of 9 full and part-time general, developmental, adolescent and community paediatricians, providing a range of general and subspecialty paediatric services. We have a Children's ward, level 2 Special Care Nursery that admits and manages neonates >32 weeks gestation, Paediatric Outpatients and a Child Developmental Service.
The hospital is also a teaching hospital with medical students from the University rotating through the paediatric department. We supervise, and are accredited for paediatric specialty registrar training.
Located in a beautiful coastal city with easy access to the mountains, with a flourishing arts and culture scene, excellent galleries, theatres, restaurants, boutique shopping and some unique festivals in the annual calendar. There are endless opportunities for sports and adventure, including hiking, mountain biking and water sports. This is a great hub from which to explore both the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
Skills and qualifications
- MCNZ Specialist Registration is required. New Zealand health care experience is desirable, but candidates from outside of New Zealand will be considered, providing they are eligible to register with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
