Salary: $170,000 - $230,000 base salary (In accordance with the MECA contract)

You will join an Emergency Medicine team of Emergency Physicians, Medical Officers, Nurses and Administration staff, supported by tertiary, primary care, paramedic and LifeFlight colleagues. The Hospital is seeking to increase their FACEM capacity, so that they may become accredited to provide the last 6 months of ACEM Advanced Training in the future.
This ED is a busy teaching emergency department seeing approximately 17,000 patients per year (20% paediatric), with an admission rate of about 30%. They work closely with primary care to develop care pathways and better manager acute demand. The next few years will bring exciting developments as they continue to work together to meet the needs of the increasing population.
The Hospital is a secondary hospital with a capacity of up to 90 beds, which services an urban and rural population of 43,000. There is a Level 4 Emergency Department with associated High Dependency Unit, 24/7 access to CT, providing 24-hour acute and elective care in general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, anaesthetics and paediatrics.
