Global Medics is currently arranging interviews for rotational House Medical Officer's for a busy regional hospital in south-eastern Victoria.

The Position:
We are currently seeking experienced and suitably qualified doctors wishing to undertake a general HMO year in 2021. The General HMO year provides experience in 4 areas such as the Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Practice and acute Mental Health. This is an excellent opportunity for those contemplating training pathways such as BPT, Emergency Medicine or General Practice.

The Hospital:
This hospital offers medical and speciality services to a population of more than 260,000 in within southeast Victoria. Their comprehensive range of services extends to emergency and intensive care, elective surgery, allied health, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology, dialysis and aged care. The hospital has a number of outstanding facilities following a recent $73 million expansion. These include a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, large Emergency Department, endoscopy suites and modern and contemporary inpatient units. These complement extensive Allied Health amenities including a gym and pool. The hospital is also the regional provider of mental health services in Gippsland. With 289 beds and treatment chairs and is a teaching hospital closely affiliated with University's as well as actively participate in undergraduate teaching.

To be eligible for this position you must have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Full working rights
  • 12 months experience in the Australian Health System as a House Medical Officer
  • Current registration with AHPRA or be eligible for unconditional AHPRA registration
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience
