Northland DHB bases RMOs at Whangarei Hospital, this is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including ED, medical specialties, ICU, ENT, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry.
Whangarei Hospital provides secondary care services to a large rural region with many high health needs. Due to the population make up and the unselected nature of our admissions Registrars gain experience managing a wide variety of conditions including rarer conditions such as rheumatic fever, tuberculosis and meningococcal disease.
