This position is responsible for the provision of expert professional and clinical leadership in the strategic and operational management of Medical Services.
The Rural Health DMS collaborates with the GP/ VMOs, Clinical Streams, CNC for Infection Prevention and Control, Director of Pharmacy Services in addressing patient safety and quality issues, including preparation and delivery of patient safety education. Through expert clinical knowledge and familiarity with systems of clinical care delivery, the position holder participates actively in assisting relevant managers and in managing medical cost centres and in liaison with medical practitioners in the Health District. Integral to performing all the above tasks is the expert knowledge of clinical care delivery systems. The Rural Health DMS at all times strives to promote the good image of the Health District to the community, and deputises for the Director, Medical Services as required.
The position will be accountable for effective clinical & corporate governance, contributing to organisational management, service development and the management of the efficient allocation and utilisation of the workforce to assist in the delivery of high quality clinical services in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Ideally you will have experience as a Rural GP.
A FRACGP or FACCRM would also be beneficial.
